Psychological Consultation and Assessment

When beginning therapy for the first time, we start with an Initial Psychological Evaluation, also referred to as an assessment. The initial assessment is a necessary tool used toward helping an individual increase insight into personal strengths, as well as in identifying areas needing to be strengthened. Assessments may also include questionnaires, behavioral checklists, attachment inventories, temperament scales, emotional status evaluations, and clinical interviewing.

Assessments are utilized in setting Evidence-based treatment plans and in establishing specific therapy goals, which set the tone and the outline for therapy.

Treatment, Validation & Support with You in Mind

Just can not stand! Confused young man s

Have you found yourself stuck in unhealthy patterns of thinking, feeling, or behaving that make it difficult for you to make decisions or to experience the fulfillment that you seek? Have the patterns made it challenging to move forward in your personal, academic, or professional life?  Do you ever have thoughts of "I have no one to turn to," or tell yourself, "Who would even understand what I'm going through?"

Too often people live on autopilot- distressed from work, school, relationships, or environmental pressures, hardly noticing what they think or how they feel anymore.  Some people hardly notice their thoughts or feelings at all because of numbing, feeling too overwhelmed, or simply because of not knowing how to identify what they think and/or feel, finding themselves merely trying to function day by day.

Many of life’s events can affect you in ways that you had not expected.  Struggling with any concern can leave you feeling overwhelmed and/or dissatisfied.  Know this:
